In Florida, do you need a license to do eyelash extensions?
In Florida, the state does not require specific certification for applying eyelash extensions, but it does require someone to obtain a cosmetologist, esthetician, full specialist, facial specialist, or medical license. An aspiring lash artist can then take a certification course to fill the knowledge gap specific to eyelashes where those programs leave off, according to this website.
You want to find someone who’s licensed and certified. Look for that cosmetology or esthetician’s license right off the bat, no matter what, 100%. Get someone who’s certified in lashes, as well, because a person could just teach herself off YouTube and then start offering the service.
Just because someone is licensed to practice beauty on others doesn’t mean he or she has experience or the right credentials to offer lash services.
If you’re on the fence about an artist, ask to see some examples of that person’s work. And ask for close-ups. A lot of people will take a full-face picture, which shows nothing. It doesn’t show the quality of the product. It doesn’t show what could be lingering at those bases, like too much glue. You want to see close-ups.
If you are looking for your next lash artist, look no further! I’m putting together Orlando’s top local lashing artists who are always polite, conscious of your comfortability, and of course, affordable. The LOF Directory is an easy-to-use widget on my site that allows clients to search for the nearest lash artist.

How much should lash extensions cost?
(Costs vary wildly from salon to salon, but expect a starting point around $120 for the basics and up to $300.) Because everyone’s eyes are different, you’ll want a set that complements your eye shape, lash length, and lifestyle.
Can eyelash extensions ruin your eyelashes?
Lash extensions alone will not ruin your lashes. Damage to the natural lashes is the result of improper application or the stylist not selecting the correct type of lash for an existing natural lash.
How long are eyelash extensions supposed to last?
Application is pricey (the most basic full set at Envious Lashes costs $105) and does take some time—anywhere from one to two hours depending on the desired volume—but, with proper care, lash extensions should last for up to six weeks,
